  • Wednesday, June 9, at 9:30 a.m.: Meeting of the Greater Boston Seniors Computer Group.
    Ralph Johnston will present a Digital Stereo Slide Show and will hold a short tutorial to describe the process. Q & A sessions will follow the presentation.

  • Saturday, June 12, at 10:00 a.m.: Auburndale Walking Tour. Meet at the United Parish of Auburndale at 64 Hancock Street.
    Auburndale's development was influenced by three distinct events related to transportation: the Boston and Worcester Railroad stop in the late 1840s, streetcar development in the 1880s, and the automobile. Join Gretchen Schuler, Preservation Planning Consultant for the Lasell Neighborhood Association, as she traces this development still evident in the historic homes and institutions of Auburndale today.
    Parking available on Hancock and Grove streets and in the Church lot. Co-sponsored by the Newton History Museum and the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs
  • Sunday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m.: Children's Cultural Celebration at the Newton History Museum. Watch ethnic artists and participate in storytelling, dancing, Chinese calligraphy, Chilean and Mexican crafts, face painting and much more.
    Refreshments included with admission. Held rain or shine. NHS and WGBH Members - $5 per person and $15 per household; Non-members $7 per person, $17 per household. Sponsored in part by the Newton Cultural Council.
  • Thursday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m.: Preserve Your Historic Home and Earn Tax Credits.
    The National Architectural Trust's Bill Moonan will discuss how to register your home on the the National Register of Historic Places. He will also examine how preserving your home's historic heritage may allow you to take a charitable contribution tax deduction. At the Newton History Museum, 527 Washington St., 617-796-1450. Free Admission.
