Special Election, April 30th | |

Please come out and vote on this important issue! On Tuesday, April 30th, the City of Newton will conduct a Special Election. Ward 8 will be choosing a new alderman, but the big issue is a proposed override of Proposition 2 1/2. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. As can be imagined, this is causing a lot of tumult in our ordinarily not-very-sleepy city :-) The official wording of the proposed override, plus a list of candidates for the Ward 8 alderman position can be found here on the City of Newton's Web Site. In addition, there are several web pages devoted either to the "pro" or "con" position. I list the ones I know about here: Against the OverrideIn Favor of the Override[an error occurred while processing this directive]
