  • Tuesday, February 7, at 7:15 p.m.: Meeting of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge at the Emerson School, Pettee Street, Newton Upper Falls.
  • Wednesday, February 8,
    • at 9:30 a.m.: Meeting of the Greater Boston Seniors Computer Group at the Newton Senior Center, 345 Walnut St, Newtonville. Brian Charleson, Director of the Carroll Center for the Blind, will present a demonstration of methods used in connecting the blind and visually impaired to computers. More details can be found at the group's program announcement page. The regular Q & A session follows.

    • at 7:00 p.m.: Meeting of the Temple Emanuel Professionals' Networking Group at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward St. Featured speaker: Arnie Fertig of Centre Street Associates, Inc. on "Recruiting a Recruiter: What you Can Expect"
  • Saturday, February 25, at 8:30 p.m.: "UnOrthodox Judaism", a discussion with Rabbi Tzvi Freeman, at Beth Menachem Chabad, 229 Dedham St, Newton. Rabbi Freeman challenges the common conceptions of Judaism's role in the world, past, present, and future, by demonstrating how Judaism is not merely a preservation of our tradition, but a radical route to the future.
    The event will include a Melave Malka buffet dinner. Reservations are $10 per person, and can be made by contacting BethMenachemChabad@comcast.net or calling 617-969-1170.
