Thursday, December 2, a 4:30 p.m.: Holiday Lighting Ceremony. At Newton City Hall. Storytelling with Mayor Cohen, with a community Sing-A-Long led by Nick Page, Boston-based composer and author, and the founder and Artistic Director of The Mystic Chorale. Free refreshments.

": Getting Past the GateKeeper: Enter the Land of your Work and Personal Success", with speaker Rob Kanzer.
Mr. Kanzer is the founder of Rob Kanzer Seminars! and The Cambridge Coaching Collaborative. He has a Master's Certificate in Dispute Resolution from The University of Massachusetts, was trained and certified in crisis intervention counseling at Project Place in Boston and is the current co-host of WSCAFM.org's public affairs program "What can I Say - creating happiness and success one word at a time".
Temple Emanuel is at 385 Ward Street, Newton. The building is handicap accessible and there is on-street parking. Free and open to the public.
Thursday, December 30, 1:30 p.m. -- 3:30 p.m.: Mayor's New Year's Open House at Newton City Hall. Free. Entertainment, face painting, refreshments. This event is sponsored by Newton Community Pride.
