"Combating Ageism: Why You Are a Terrific Candidate for the Job!"
Ageism is defined as negative beliefs about aging and how people are treated based on those stereotypes. Inarguably ageism is alive and well in our society. In fact, not only do employers and co-workers make judgments about anyone with gray hair, we do it to ourselves through our own attitudes and fears about what it means to grow older. It?s up to each of us to look at how we may be buying into the very myths and stereotypes that keeps us from moving forward in our careers and our lives.
Speaker Roberta Taylor, career/ life transition coach, will share some important tips for combating stereotypes and educating young hiring managers and employees about modern aging.
Roberta Taylor is a licensed psychotherapist, career/life transition coach and couples relationship coaching specialist. A member of the National Speakers Association, she facilitates workshops and speaks to professional and community organizations on topics related to midlife and retirement transition. She brings her expertise in adult development and life planning, as well as her own life experience, to helping individuals and couples face the challenges and opportunities in the second half of life.
Temple Emanuel is at 385 Ward Street, Newton. The building is handicap accessible and there is on-street parking. Free and open to the public.
